Interim Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum
& Instruction
The Yorktown Central School District announces that Mr.
Gary S. Heller was appointed to the position of Interim Assistant
Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction on August 1, 2005
thru June 30, 2006.
Mr. Heller recently retired from Rockland BOCES as Assistant Superintendent
for Educational Services. Mr. Heller's past administrative experience
includes thirteen years as the high school principal in the Ramapo
Central School District and the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District,
and ten years as an assistant high school principal in Monroe-Woodbury.
Mr. Heller previously taught Biology and Chemistry.
Mr. Heller is married and has two adult children. His children
and his wife are also teachers. Mr. Heller resides in Goshen, New
York.

A sub-committee of the K-5 Report Card Committee
responded to the Board of Education’s request for an information
guide to assist parents in understanding the connection between
our district curriculum and the new report cards.
A grade by grade level brochure was generated for
each parent of our K-5 students. The pamphlet is entitled Guide
To Your Child’s Program In Yorktown.
