On March 10, 2nd graders met author Roni Schotter. She worked with small groups - two to three classes at a time, to share her love of writing as well as concrete ideas for making our writing the best it can be!

Ms. Schotter spoke to the children as fellow writers, saying she had the same difficulties they did - finding just the right word, turning everyday ideas into interesting stories! |

She explained how to take something factual and "stretch it", and turn it into a story! |

She also showed them the process by which a story, once written and rewritten and illustrated is made into a book at the publishers. |
