Immunizations
All students
in New York State are required to be properly immunized against
Diphtheria, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella (German Measles), Hepatitis
B and Varicella (Chicken Pox). .All students born on or after
January 1, 1998 and entering kindergarten in 2003 must show proof
of immunization against Varicella (Chicken Pox). The Hepatitis
B vaccine requirement became effective for all students entering
7th grade as of September 2000. All student born on or after January
1, 1985 must also show proof of two doses of Measles vaccine.
Potassium Iodide Distribution
The Yorktown Central
School district will participate in the Potassium Iodide distribution
in the event of an emergency at the Indian Point Nuclear Power
Plant. Parents can opt to not have their child receive the KI
pills.
