| Welcome to Brookside Elementary School. We invite you to enjoy the insights about our school which serves 509 third, fourth, and fifth graders. Brookside opened its doors to Yorktown in 1954 and was the first elementary school in our district. The movement of the "baby boomers" from New York City caused Yorktown to grow and flourish. Brookside School appreciates the individual differences of our students.
