LIBRARY POLICIES

The Crompond Library is open from 8:35 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon.

Students are allowed to borrow a maximum of three book at anyone time.  Each item can be borrowed for up to two weeks, and they may be renewed once for another two weeks.  Books maybe returned anytime before the two weeks are up, and other books may be borrowed.

Occasionally books are lost or misplaced. Please inform the library if a book has been misplaced, a notation will be made.  The student can look for the book over the year and if it is not found by the end of the year, the student must pay for replacing the book.  If the book is subsequently found the student will be reimbursed.

If the item goes overdue, the students will receive an overdue notice in their class; this notice will be sent each week.

Taking care of the books is very important

The following behaviors are taught in the library, as well as every class:

Please, turn pages carefully from the top or bottom right-hand corner of the page, NOT at the bottom with your left thumb

Please use a bookmark to mark your place.  Never bend down a page corner (that's called dog-eared) or use a pencil.  Bookmarks are always available at the library

Please keep books away from pets, food, liquids, the outdoors, and especially children with crayons, markers, pencils, pens, and scissors.
