Smithsonian Education - Educator's Page - Lesson plans, resources and professional development in Language Arts with great ideas for integrating the Smithsonian collection into the classroom.

Teachers' Guide for the Professional Cartoonists' Index (Cagle) - links to political cartoons and methods to use them in the classroom.

Web English Teacher - lesson plans, professional resources and more. Find links to lesson ideas for many units, including poetry, Shakespeare, media literacy, mythology & folklore.

World of Poetry database - thousands of full-text poems, analysis and biographical information about poets from antiquity to the present.

Best of History Web Sites - this site is worth a visit! It is an award-winning portal containing links to over 1,000 history sites as well as links to hundreds of quality lesson plans, activities, games and more.

Center for Teaching History with Technology- provides ideas for history and social studies teachers to incorporate technology effectively into their classroom.

HistoryTeacher.net - maintained by Susan Pojer of Horace Greeley HS in Chappaqua. There are many good links here.

National Archives Resources for Educators - resources and ideas for teaching with documents. Includes lesson plans and fascinating historical documents online.

New York Times Learning Network - ties in lesson plans with news articles from current headlines. Archive is searchable by subject and keyword.

Simon Wiesenthal Center Multimedia Learning - includes virtual exhibits from the Center's Museum of Tolerance, a glossary of the Holocaust, and a high school bibliography.

Smithsonian Education - Educator's Page - Lesson plans, resources and professional development in history and culture with great ideas for integrating the Smithsonian collection into the classroom.

Teacher's Guide to the Holocaust - interdisciplinary resources on the Holocaust including photographs, documents, art, music, movies, and literature. Hosted by University of South Florida.

Teachers' Guide for the Professional Cartoonists' Index (Cagle) - links to political cartoons and methods to use them in the classroom.

Teaching with Historic Places - sponsored by the National Park Service, this web site offers lesson plans using historic sites to explore American history. Locations may be searched by state, yielding several in our area.

Math Forum High School Teachers' Place - sponsored by the Drexel School of Education.  There are lesson plans and professional development links, as well as a Math Library categorized by subject.

New York Times Learning Network - ties in lesson plans with news articles from current headlines. Archive is searchable by subject and keyword.

NOVA Teachers - extensive resources from the noted PBS series include lesson plans and streaming video. Video clips are also available and could be used to introduce a lesson.

National Science Digital Library (NSDL)funded by the National Science Foundation, this site offers thousands of resources and ideas for science instruction.

Blue Web'n - a library of learning sites on the web including ratings and reviews. The search function permits a broad range of content areas.

Edsitement - sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities, this site offers an extensive database of lesson plans and links.

Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) - U.S. Dept of Education's bibliographic database (over 1 million citations) on education topics going back to 1966. Over 100,000 full text articles available for free.

Educator's Reference Desk - access 2,000+ lesson plans and 3,000+ links to online education information. There is also an alternative search interface offered for the ERIC database.

Marco Polo Lesson Plans - thousands of lesson plans for the classroom classified by subject.

WebQuests

WebQuest Portal - Bernie Dodge's WebQuest blog. Provides excellent background articles. Click on 'Find WebQuests' to access the extensive database.

Best WebQuests.com - Tom March is a colleague of Bernie Dodge, an early proponent of WebQuests as educational tool. March's site has a user-rated database of webquests.

Kathy Schrock's Assessment Rubrics - links to subject-specific and general rubrics for teachers from a trusted source.

Rubric Links - extensive selection of resources from the Springfield Township High School Library including rubrics for multimedia projects.
